Dr. Charles Hsu Chairman

Dr. Charles Hsu is the chairman and founder of eMemory Technology Inc. He established the company in 2000, to provide cutting edge innovations in NVM IP technology to the market. Under Dr. Hsu’s leadership, eMemory has accomplished several major technological breakthroughs and established itself as the leading developer of logic-based non-volatile memory (Logic NVM) worldwide. In 2019, Dr. Hsu founded PUFsecurity Technology, providing PUF-based hardware security IP solutions to secure the future connected world.

Dr. Hsu began his career with IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in New York State before returning to Taiwan in 1992 to become a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Tsing-Hua University (NTHU). During his time in academia, he became a tenured professor, led the Tzu-Chiang Institute and Incubation Center, and in 1998, Dr. Hsu was appointed chairman of the Institute of Electronics Engineering at NTHU.

Dr. Hsu holds a BS in electrical engineering from NTHU and an MS and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from The University of Illinois. He holds over 200 patents and has published over 120 papers on semiconductor devices. His research and inventions have gained accolades from both the industry and academia.

Michael Ho President

Mr. Ho was appointed President in 2021. With nearly 20 years of management experience inside eMemory, he brings to the role the business knowledge and expertise to guide the company’s future growth. Mr. Ho has held various management positions since joining in 2002. Most recently, as senior vice president, he oversaw worldwide sales, product marketing, global business development, and customer engineering services. In the past, he also managed technology platform development. Mr. Ho played an integral role in establishing the company as the market leader in logic-based non-volatile memory (Logic NVM), by leading the sales team since 2008.

Before joining eMemory, Mr. Ho worked at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and participated in various non-volatile memory technology development projects. Mr. Ho has a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from National Tsing-Hua University (NTHU) and holds over 30 patents in the semiconductor technology field.

Chris Lu SVP, Business Development

Mr. Lu was appointed SVP for Business Development in 2022. He oversees worldwide sales, product marketing, global business development, and customer engineering services. Mr. Lu joined eMemory in 2002 as the department manager of Customer Engineering. He has led the OTP Business Group since 2012, successfully helped OTP SIP develop in leading-edge process nodes, including 12nm, 7nm, and 5nm. Under Mr. Lu’s leadership, eMemory has become a top-tier OTP SIP provider, winning TSMC’s Best IP Partner award for 12 consecutive years. Prior to joining eMemory, Mr. Lu worked at Philips and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) where he was part of semiconductor process-related R&D projects. Before that, Mr. Lu graduated from the National Taiwan University (NTU) with a master’s degree in Photonics and Optoelectronics Engineering (formerly known as Electro-Optical Engineering). He currently holds over 40 patents in the field of semiconductor technology.

Hsin Ming Chen VP, OTP Business Group

Mr. Chen was appointed as head of the OTP Business Group in 2022, focusing on technology innovation and the development of the OTP SIP product line. He joined eMemory in 2002, and has been a central figure in the development of embedded OTP memory and PUF (Physical Unclonable Functions) technology. Prior to joining eMemory technology, Mr. Chen work focused on Nonvolatile Memory technology and advanced process development for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). Mr. Chen is a Graduate of National Tsing Hua University with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and currently holds over 200 patents in the semiconductor field.

John Ho VP, Research and Development

Mr. Ho is one of the Vice Presidents of eMemory. He was appointed to the position in 2014 and is currently responsible for leading the Engineering Center and ensuring that product integration retains its high efficiency standards. Ho joined eMemory in 2000 as one of the company’s founding members and focused on the R&D of core technologies and SIP. Prior to joining eMemory, Mr. Ho worked on memory design and development at Vanguard International Semiconductor (VIS). Mr. Ho graduated from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) with a master’s degree in Electronics Engineering.
