NeoFlash HD series is the full-featured, embedded flash memory solution for system-on-a-chip (SoC) applications such as MCUs, DSPs, cellular communications, smart cards, DVDs, and speech/voice ICs.

Availability

NeoFlash HD is currently available at 0.18um technology and in densities up to 8M bits. Memory blocks in Flash HD can be set to either x8 or x16 configurations.

Advantages

Requiring only three additional non-critical masks, NeoFlash HD offers a low cost, production-robust alternative to external flash. NeoFlash HD provides the ability to separate data, code and device information in distinct memory blocks, with blocks at 8k bits and smaller. Furthermore, NeoFlash HD does not require external power for programming.

Technical Principles

In addition to the main memory block, NeoFlash HD incorporates needed power switches and driver circuits simplifying management of internal power at different operation modes. The HV system, with both positive and negative pumping circuit is also included to supply 6V programming and +/-6V erasure power. For easier testing and debugging purpose, direct access mode also can be embedded to access all signals through shared pad and with little area penalty.
