What is Parameter Setting?

Once an IC has been fabricated and passed on to system assembly, certain parameters of the IC may have to be adjusted so that they work efficiently in conjunction with other components. Parameter settings are most commonly required in driver ICs—for instance when setting grey levels and gamma curves in LCD driver ICs. More complex systems may require real-time recording of system parameters in order to improve product life, as is the case for battery impedance and safety in laptop battery packs.
